River Kayaking in the Dallas / Fort Worth area has recently become a popular sport. With the opening of the Fort Worth downtown Trinity River Project, more people are becoming aware that we have a river in North Texas.
When driving on the roads and freeways in the Dallas area the river is barely noticeable from a speeding vehicle . Partially obscured by the dense foliage along the river banks in warmer months, the Trinity is an unknown recreational resource.
Canoe and kayak enthusiasts have been paddling the river for decades, The Dallas Downriver Club holds an annual race in September at McInnish Park. Hundreds of other local “River Rats” have been quietly exploring the natural beauty of the Trinity for decades.
You don’t have to make the 200+ mile to the Hill Country to have a family adventure on the river. While San Marcos and New Braunfels are great vacation destinations, it is expensive and time consuming. It’s all right here close to home.
The Trinity River Kayak Co was created so that residents of North Texas could have the same fun family experience without the hassle of leaving home. River kayaking has never been easier or more affordable. We own our property on the Trinity River in Coppell, Texas and will be opening Spring of 2013.
